As for cardio, there’re two cross-trainers, two treadmills and two stationary bikes.

Everything is brand new, as the hotel just recently opened.

There’s not much in this hotel gym, especially if you are wanting to train weights, rather than cardio. As is the case in many UK hotels, the “fitness suite” is basically some cardio machines and a rack of dumbbells.
On the positive side, there’s a good range of dumbbells.The facility is basic, but on the bright side, you’ll have to exercise your mind as well to come up with a good workout. Mine was great!

There’re two pin-operated machines – one covering leg extensions and ab crunches and another one with low/high handles for shoulder presses, chest presses or biceps curls, for example.
 
Cardio equipment covers two treadmills, two cross-trainers and a stationary bike.

The hotel gym is very basic. It’s open 24/7.
 
The dumbbell rack has a lot of weights, but there’s not enough range. 10 kg is the heaviest. I’d want to see a better range, up to at least 30kg. Also, a dual cable machine would’ve been better than the two machines they do have.

To gain access to the hotel gym you need to get a pass key from reception.
Opening hours are from 6am to 10pm.
 
The website advertises a well-equipped state-of-the-art gym with extensive range of free weights. In reality, there are two or three treadmills, a rowing machine (broken) a single cable multi gym (cable broken) and four kettlebells I returned to the reception a few minutes later to report it, and they said they knew about the rowing machine…

There’s also a solid selection of dumbbells and adjustable benches.
There’s even a TRX station with plyo boxes and punching bags.
 
As for cardio equipment, there’re assault runners, rowers, treadmills and cross-trainers.

Although the hotel gym at this hotel in Cheadle is a little tired and could do with a revamp, it’s well equipped. Although I’m not a fan of TechnoGym equipment, it worked.
 
The headroom is a little restricted in the dumbbell area.
 
The hotel gym is open from 6am to 10pm on Monday to Friday – I didn’t see the opening hours during the weekend.

Yes, it’s a great hotel gym! I use this chain of hotels as their investment in hotel gyms tops other hotels’ hands down. They usually offer excellent hotel gyms and pools.

There’re several pin-operated machines – for example, chest presses, shoulder presses, seated rows, leg curls, leg extensions, seated leg presses, lat pull-downs and a cable machine.
There’s also an insane collection of dumbbells (4 to 110 lbs/2 to 50 kgs) and three adjustable benches.
There’s an Olympic cage for squats, etc., different bars and a nice selection of plates.
There’s also a kind of TRX setup with monkey bars and battle rope pulls.
 
As for cardio equipment, there’re four stationary bikes, cross-trainers, rowing machines and treadmills (including the curved option).
 
Accessories include medicine balls, exercise balls, power bags and there’s even a punching bag!

Does the hotel gym offer complimentary water? Yes.

The hotel gym has a good variety of equipment.
There’s air conditioning in the gym as well as Wi-Fi (the signal without Wi-Fi wasn’t great).
As a hotel guest, you can also use locker facilities, the swimming pool and spa, including hot tubs, steam rooms and saunas.

There’s a Smith machine, a cable station with numerous different handles, and a combined leg extensions/lying leg curls machine. There’s also two TRX sections with a rope pulling setup.
 
There’s a huge cardio area consisting of eight treadmills, two rowing machines, two cross-trainers, three stationary bikes, a pair of spinning bikes and even a stair-master.
 
Accessories include exercise balls, medicine balls, exercise mats and a battle rope station. There’s also a box for box jumps and a free-standing punch bag.

All the equipment is new and well-maintained and the hotel gym itself appears clean.
It’s the first time I’ve ever seen sparkling water in a hotel gym.

Dumbbells range from 4 to 100 lbs/2 to 44 kgs and there’s a pair of adjustable benches to work with.
 
In terms of cardio equipment, they’ve got you covered as well! There’re two rowing machines, two treadmills, four cross trainers, three stationary bikes, a stair-master and a spinning bike.

In terms of cardio equipment, there’re three treadmills, two cross trainers, two stationary bikes, a rowing machine and two spinning bikes to get your cardio juices flowing.

It’s a clean gym area available for everyone to get in some essential training when staying here.
 
For a hotel gym, it’s not bad. It’s limited, but with the right imagination and motivation to train you can get a great session done.
Nevertheless, it would’ve been nice with heavier dumbbells, a squat rack, a pull bar and maybe a cable machine.
 
Outside of the gym there’re multiple outdoor fitness options including a 3km trail run around the site and outdoor fitness equipment dotted about.

No – the equipment is too limited. It’s fine for a basic workout, but nothing more.

Accessories include a Bosu ball, exercise mats, medicine balls and a punching bag.

Comments
The hotel gym is compact, but very versatile and located in a separate building to the main hotel. It’s clean, all the equipment is in good condition and everything is kept very tidy.
 
Treadmills are in good quality (Matrix brand) and with internet access allowing you to register your own profile if preferred, access to YouTube, games and social media if that’s your thing.
 
I used the gym many times and never found it to be busy.
